Statement of Intent
A Commitment to Liberty in Our Lifetime
The Free State Project is more than an idea, it’s a promise.
From our inception until we triggered the move in 2016, every participant was asked to sign the Statement of Intent on the path to 20,000 signers. This was an important step for many people as they committed to joining the movement.
Today, anyone who shares our liberty values and intends to live in New Hampshire — native or newcomer — is invited to sign and declare their intent to participate in the Free State Project.
By signing the statement of intent, you are joining thousands of liberty-minded individuals who have pledged to make their home in New Hampshire and to work toward a society where the maximum role of government is protecting individual rights to life, liberty, and property.
Why It Matters
- A Community of Builders: The Statement of Intent establishes that you are serious about building a free society with others who share liberty values.
- Strength in Numbers: Together, thousands of signers and movers demonstrate a growing commitment to building liberty in New Hampshire.
- The First Step: Signing is a milestone in your journey, declaring that you are not just an occasional visitor to New Hampshire, but someone who intends to plant their flag and build thriving freedom-minded communities.
Ready to join us? Sign the pledge:
I hereby state my solemn intent to live in New Hampshire and exert my fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of individual rights to life, liberty, and property. I am a Free Stater.
